about Peggy flanagan

Peggy Flanagan is the kind of leader that Minnesotans need in the U.S. Senate because she fights for working families across our state and country. Peggy has a proven track record standing up to Donald Trump, billionaires like Elon Musk, and MAGA Republicans who are working to dismantle Medicaid, Social Security, and our public schools.

Peggy’s Background

Raised by a single mom in St. Louis Park, Peggy knows what it’s like for families to struggle to make ends meet. She has spent her whole career working to make life better for Minnesota's children and families, driven by optimism for what’s possible, and a deep belief in the power of community action and service. Peggy has worked with others to make meaningful change in every role she’s held - first as a community organizer, then on the Minneapolis school board, in the state legislature, and now as lieutenant governor. As a citizen of the White Earth Nation of Ojibwe, when elected Peggy will make history as the first Native American woman ever to serve in the U.S. Senate.

Peggy’s Track Record

As a state legislator and Lieutenant Governor, Peggy worked hand in hand with everyday Minnesotans to raise the minimum wage, expand access to health care and mental health services, and further reproductive freedom, racial justice, and tribal sovereignty. Her leadership is rooted in the values she learned organizing for progressive champions like Paul Wellstone and the belief that “we all do better when we all do better.”

It’s Time for Peggy in the US Senate

In a moment when so much is on the line for working families and for our country - our rights, our democracy, and our basic decency - Peggy is the strongest Democrat to carry the torch for Minnesota. She’s not just a proven vote-getter with statewide name recognition and deep grassroots support - she is building a movement where ALL Minnesotans can achieve people-powered policy wins in the face of moneyed corporate special interests.

Peggy’s track-record as a courageous fighter for working families is why so many Minnesota Democrats like former Senator Al Franken, Attorney General Keith Ellison, Saint Paul Mayor Melvin Carter, and national progressive leaders like Senator Elizabeth Warren are all in for Peggy. They know that by electing Peggy, Minnesotans can send a clear message: we’re choosing a future built on dignity, opportunity, and the power of people coming together.
